Low Voltage Metering Unit (0.6 kV)
The Low Voltage Metering Unit was developed to move metering outdoors, directly onto the pole, following the same concept applied to the 15 kV equipment and making unauthorized access more difficult. The change had an immediate impact, reducing non-technical losses and paving the way for an evolution the sector had awaited for years: remote disconnection and reconnection. In addition to modernizing the relationship with the consumer, this solution increases operational efficiency, speeds up the cycle of combating payment defaults, reduces field team trips and raises technician safety, while protecting the utilities’ revenue and improving service quality.
15 kV Metering Unit
The 15 kV Metering Unit marked a historic transformation in the power sector: started in 1999, with development, testing and type approval, it began to be supplied in 2000, introducing the concept of moving metering from indoor cabins out to the poles. This change significantly reduced non-technical losses and drove the adoption of the solution throughout the country, with a rapid expansion in sales. Twenty-five years later, the results speak for themselves: the solution has become a benchmark in Brazil and throughout Latin America, present at all utilities and proving, in practice, its effectiveness in fighting losses and modernizing the sector.
